Simon Dinnigan guitar

Biography

Simon Dinnigan was born in Sheffield, England in 1968. From the age of nine, he was hailed as a child prodigy, giving his first public performance at age eleven.

In 1982, he won a scholarship to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. While there he was heard by José Tomás, Spain's most respected teacher of guitar. He was invited to Alicante to study with Professor Tomás, who, after one year, remarked that "he was the finest pupil he had ever had the good fortune to encounter." He has undertaken further master classes with such leading guitarists as John Williams, David Russell, Roberto Aussel and the legendary Andrés Segovia.

Simon Dinnigan has successfully performed in many competitions and gained almost two decades of artistic experience, playing in Europe, the USA, Central and South America and South East Asia. He recently performed with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. His reputation as one of the finest guitarists of his generation has been reaffirmed by the success of his solo recording for the Classic FM label.

Simon Dinnigan currently holds the position of Principal Guitar Tutor at the Birmingham Conservatory.
