Isabelle Steinbrüchel was born in 1976 in Geneva into a musical family. She was awarded the Freundeskreis Musikhochschule Scholarship (Zürich/Winterthur, 2003), the Bruno-Schuler Stiftung Scholarship (Zürich, 2001), the Fondation Marescotti Scholarship (Geneva, 2001), the United Kingdom Harp Association Prize (London, 1997) and the Concours des Jeunesses Musicales Suisses, 2nd Prize (1995).
She studied for four years in London (1995-1999) with Sioned Williams at the Trinity College of Music receiving a Bachelor of Music Degree with Honours. While in England, she appeared as a soloist at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, worked with conductors such as Stephen Jackson (BBC Symphony Chorus), performed with orchestras including the London Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and could be heard on BBC Radio 3. In Switzerland, she played as a soloist for Radio Suisse Romande and DRS 2.
Isabelle Steinbrüchel started playing the harp at the age of 8 with C. Eisenhoffer. She is currently studying at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Zürich with C. Michel.
