Fedor Amosov was born in Moscow, Russia to a musical family. He started playing cello at the age of 6 and was accepted to study in one of Russia's most prestigious music schools -- Moscow Conservatory's Central Music College. His first public performance took place one year later, and since then he has been performing regularly as soloist and recitalist in countries including Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Great Britain, France, Germany, Spain, Japan and Czech Republic. Mr Amosov appeared as a soloist with such orchestras as State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia, as well as symphony orchestras in Japan, Spain and Czech Republic. Mr Amosov is the first prize winner of Concertino Prague 38th International Competition (with special prize for the best performance of the 3rd Sonata by Martinu); 5th International Youth Tchaikovsky Competition in Japan (Kurashiki); All-Russian Cello Competition "The Magic Bow" (Grand Prix, 2003) and International Knushevitsky Cello Competition (2007). Recently, in the United States Mr Amosov won WAMSO and Corpus Christi international competitions and is scheduled to perform with Corpus Christi and Minnesota Orchestras in 2009. Mr Amosov studied with such cellists as Lev Evgrafov, Natalia Gutman and presently with Suren Bagratuni in the Artist Diploma program at Michigan State University in the United States. He has also had lessons with Mstislav Rostropovich, David Geringas, Natalia Shakhovskaya, Dmitri Yablonsky and Gustav Rivinius.
