A New Mission -- Cultural Diplomacy

Swiss Global Artistic Foundation embarks on new mission – projecting cultural diplomacy through international musical collaborations worldwide. Over the 2012 – 2013 season, five projects will be developed in Europe, North America, Middle East and Asia and bring together musicians of different cultural and musical backgrounds to showcase the unique power of music as a tool of an intercultural dialogue.

The Cultural Diplomacy Division of Swiss Global will be headed by Sabina Rakcheyeva (pictured right), a violinist from Azerbaijan and a rostered artist with the Foundation.

Three Renowned Financial and Legal Professionals Join USA Board of Directors

We are delighted to the appointment of three members to the USA Board of Directors of the Swiss Global Artistic Foundation. The expertise brought to us will assist the Foundation to develop into the next phase of its exciting growth.
John Habib (pictured left) is the President and Chief Legal Counsel for M.E.N.A. Bridge Advisors.
David Munoz (center) is a Managing Director and the Global Head of Credit Strategy for BlackRock's Fixed Income Division and for the R3 Fund, which invests in absolute return based research and trade ideas across asset classes.
Dez Desai (right) is a Director and the Head Trader of Credit Strategies, and has been the Lead Portfolio Manager for the U.S. Event Driven portfolio since May 2008.

At the Australian Embassy in March
Swiss Global was on hand at the Australian Embassy in Washington DC in March, where Australian-Taiwanese violinist Ray Chen performed as part of the Embassy Series. The Foundation collaborated in the production of this concert, which featured a unique musical experience followed by a reception where audience members were encouraged to meet the performers.
The Embassy Series extends public access to the embassies in the national capital, and offers its audience the opportunity to participate in a cultural exchange - to watch and listen to a musical performance that highlights the contributions of a particular country.
L'OIG Perform in New York in March
In celebration of the 300th anniversary of composer and writer Jean-Jacques Rousseau and the 250th Anniversary of diplomat Albert Gallatin,
both Geneva-born, the City of Geneva invited the soloists of the Geneva International Orchestra (L'OIG) to perform in New York. The concert took place Saturday 10 March at the famed Merkin Concert Hall in Lincoln Center, and featured works of Brahms, Liszt, Ravel and Mendelssohn among others. L'OIG is the official orchestra of Swiss Global.

Young Metropolitan Opera Singer Joins Roster
Swiss Global announces the addition of Alexander Lewis tenor to its roster of distinguished Young Artists. Originally from Australia, Mr Lewis is now based in New York, where he is a member of the Lindemann Young Artist Program at the Metropolitan Opera.
Winter Concert at the Beau-Rivage Palace

The Swiss Global Artistic Foundation was pleased to present a winter concert of Young Artists on 17 February in Lausanne. The Foundation returned to the opulent Salle Sandoz of the Beau-Rivage Palace Hotel for an unforgettable evening of musical performance, featuring works of Debussy, Poulenc and Rachmaninoff among others. Artists included Elizabeth Bailey soprano, Loïc Schneider flute and the Trio Ernest Chausson.

Contemporary & Jazz Division Continues to Expand
Since its inception, Swiss Global seeks to benefit artists while providing significant cultural experiences. Beginning with classical musicians, the Foundation has expanded its scope and now includes jazz talents as well as musical theater performers.
As part of the Foundation’s expansion of its newly formed Contemporary & Jazz Division, we are proud to announce the addition of the youngest Young Artist to our roster – Amanda Barise jazz voice. At the age of 13, she has performed throughout New York and has appeared on nationally televised sports events.

Exceptional Artist Joins Roster
The Foundation is pleased to announce the recent addition of Sabina Rakcheyeva violin to its distinguished roster of Young Artists.
Ms Rakcheyeva, the first Azerbaijani musician affiliated with Swiss Global, is also the first Azerbaijani to be accepted to the Juilliard School in New York. She appeared as a soloist with orchestras in Azerbaijan, Europe and the United States, performed in more than forty countries and was featured on BBC, CNN, Voice of America Radio and US government television.

Young Artist Joins Staff
Swiss Global Young Artist Konstantin Soukhovetski piano joins the Foundation Development Team this month. Based in New York, the Russian pianist will assist Briana Lesesne in the London office with the management of Russian Friends of Swiss Global, a newly-formed circle.

Middle Eastern Friends of the Swiss Global Artistic Foundation
The Foundation is delighted to announce the upcoming launch of its newly forming circle: The Middle Eastern Friends of the Swiss Global Artistic Foundation. Swiss Global is expanding to certain countries of the Middle East beginning in January 2012. We welcome John Habib (President and General Counsel, United Arab Emirates) and Talal Karami (President, Qatar) to the Foundation Staff.
